Hi all, I'm Christina (some call me sparrow or stunt cunt) and I'm an apprentice at Texas Body Art in Houston. I've been apprenticing for a year now (at first by someone who didn't know shit and now by excellent artists), and I am really learning and having a good time.
I don't understand yet why there aren't that many women in the field. I'm not a man-hater or anything, but I'm curious, so women, speak up! Thanks in advance for anyone who answers my sometimes stupid questions or points me in the right direction...

My name is Alexander Sasha Matic I'm a pro.sculptor by the education but I start tattooing 10 years ago in Art tattoo studio Belgrade.With my great friend Stella.Last 3 years I was off working on the movie productions as a set designer.The last movie I done is "Troy" in W.Bros prod.Now I am back in tattoos and right now I opening a new shop in Malta,it will be named Tattoomatic.What more to say then that I hopping to find my everlasting happiness in this job once again and that I will compete to show my abilities in the international league. Just wanted to Intro me. I'm an Ex NYC Cop (6 years on the job, had to retire after 9/11) And currently am apprenticing in a Tat shop here in New Jersey. Tattooing is something I've wanted to do from about age 18. I got very discouraged because so many shops quoted me ridiculas amounts of money to apprentice. I never had a pot to piss in or a window to toss it out, so needless to say I couldn't afford an apprenticeship fee. After one artist quoted me 25k to apprentice, I got the wind blown out of my sails and gave up. Well Im 32 now. I recently opened a Video store in the Indoor portion of Collingwood Fleam Market in NJ. I met the guys in the Tattoo shop there, and we got along very well. When I told one artist there my story, he asked if I had a sketch book. I showed it to him, and he offered to teach me. I asked how much, and my eyes popped out of my head when he told me free! jeff stumpp. drop the jeff - add what ever you please to the stumpp (stumppinator, stumppy, stumppalumpagus, woody etc.)
going on 7 years now. found my way here via read street. i am obsessed with learning all i can about our crazy trade. i like swinging jazz and d00-it yerself lo-fi 4 track muzak. currently in fort wayne, indiana. keeps me within 2 hours of my son. plus i like it here. "Master fought you with the Wa Fist. It would be his wish for me to do the same."

I am so happy to be here! I also found my way here through Read Street and have been lurking for a couple of weeks. I am truly impressed with the quality of this forum, it seems very supportive and open.
Anyway, I'm Lori and I have been tattooing for 9 years professionally and now I am moving to CT to open my own little space on the planet. I have worked for and with some really great artists, but it is time to be on my own. I am told that I don't play well with others, but you'll see that it's not true--I'm a sweetie!  So, it's great to be here and though I may not post much for a little while (since I am moving within the next couple of weeks) but when I am all set up again, I hope to be here to get to meet y'all and exchange some ideas and stuff. im Justin Nihiser from illinois been tattooing for 11 years now learned the whole trade myself. I got my first peice at Rock N' Roll tattoos in Richmond VA and have been hooked ever since i now own Finishing Touch Ink in Charleston Il and besides my wife and kids its the love of my life |
